Glaze Chem 101:

Join us for another round of the popular Glaze Chem 101 workshop. Wednesday evenings from 6pm till 9pm. We’ll discuss common glaze faults as well as how do deal with them. Learn proper materials handling and formulation tips and tricks.  Then you’ll create ten unique glazes, test fire each and leave with a batch of your own personal glaze!

Wednesdays October 5th, 12th and 26th  *  6pm – 9pm  *   $135.00

Who’s ready for some FUN?!?! We’ve jam packed this summer with tons of it – new classes and workshops, a party, a TON of FREE CLAY….. what?!?!?

You heard us right! We’re celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of our Grand Opening and we’re raffling off a TON of Clay to some lucky potter. How can you enter the raffle? Easy – just come by the store and buy a $2 Rafffle ticket (get it – cause we’re two? and it’s 2000lb of clay? – we’re so funny!) So come join us Saturday, June 25th at 6pm for a rocking party with games, popsicles, food and fun – and you could win a whole lot of clay!!

Workshops & Classes

Stained

Sunday, June 5th from 1pm – 5pm $50.00

Come learn the fundamentals of using stains in slips, glazes and in colored clays. This workshop will be very messy – and FUN! We’ll learn the unique chemical compositions of ceramic stains and how to  utilize them in your work. You’ll leave with several pounds of colored clay, some beautiful agate ware and a new love of stains!! RSVP by 5/28!

Announcing new vanGilder Glazes at Atlanta Clay – Bill van Gilder has formulated a line of 6 (and growing!) recipes. New also in the store -to be more GREEN for spring –  we are starting a swap pile here – so if there is a glaze or tool you bought and it didn’t tickle your fancy – bring it and trade for someone else’s. We ask that no clay or unlabled glazes be left at the swap because it could potentially damage someone’s kiln to fire a product incorrectly.  Check back with us soon – and be sure to visit us at NCECA – Booth 328!

We’re testing some new red glazes at Atlanta Clay – a hot crystalline glaze and several different red stains – so bring your jars and come get some to test! We’ll be giving out samples as long as they last and if you bring the piece back we’ll display it on our shelves! The Green Show was a great success, and we’re looking forward to seeing all the great work you guys create this time!
