We’re testing some new red glazes at Atlanta Clay – a hot crystalline glaze and several different red stains – so bring your jars and come get some to test! We’ll be giving out samples as long as they last and if you bring the piece back we’ll display it on our shelves! The Green Show was a great success, and we’re looking forward to seeing all the great work you guys create this time!

As a new store – with lots of new glaze lines – we need your help to test them out. Come in with an empty glaze jar (or any small jar) and get a free sample of some of our new glazes! After much debate our green – and yes, chartreuse too, glazes won out as the color to be tested. And what does this mean for you? Well, the first 30 or so people who make it in with a jar can have a free glaze sample and bring their piece back in once its fired to display for others to see. Hey, that’s a free glaze and a free show!! We have both lowfire and highfire glazes so hurry in – these colors won’t last long!

   Potters beware…..Erik Haagensen is running around town posting flyers with reckless abandon.  Guard your light posts, guard your magnet boards, guard your babies. What is he posting? The MudFire 2009 Summer/Fall Workshop booklet where you can learn about all the amazing artists MudFire brings in.  Why is he posting these booklets with such zeal? Because the artists are amazing, that’s why. And also because this weekend Nancy Selvin will be presenting “Still Life with Print” where you can learn how to screen images onto handbuilt forms…. and people that’s amazing and you should go. So now you’re interested in these alleged flyers huh? And you’re intrigued as to what  amazing workshops MudFire might still have to offer? It’s less than one week till our Grand Opening – and we’ve been hard at work here at Atlanta Clay getting the shelves stocked, getting the computers set up and readying the store for you! We’ve also had some fun too…

Check out our new delivery truck… not only is it funky fresh but it can haul over 7000lb of clay!!! That’s a lot of clay!!
