Please use caution when weighing out raw materials and when mixing glazes or clays. We recommend using an N95 rated respirator with cartridges or a dust mask with the same rating. I would also suggest an apron and when measuring oxides or stains a pair of gloves. Please ask us if you have questions about safety, substitutions, or recipes. We have extensive experience mixing glazes and utilizing ceramic materials.
Ceramic materials are mined and from batch to batch may have differences that can cause changes in your recipes – it is a good idea to mix a test batch when changing chemical batches or when you have to purchase new chemicals after a period of time.
We keep MSDS sheets on file but there are several good online sources including Laguna Clay, Digital Fire, and each manufacturer keeps an MSDS section – let us know if you need assistance we are happy to help you find what you need.
